The delivery, successful go-live and user adoption of healthcare IT systems are huge and complex programmes which encompass virtually all functions and services within NHS Trusts. The level of change management alongside detailed programme management are crucial to deliver a successful implementation on time, on budget and that meets stakeholders and user expectations.
Populo Consulting has a highly flexible approach that uses many recognised methodologies and processes to deliver either a complete system from end to end, components of a system or upgrades. We are able to either augment existing internal deployment teams with other skilled and experienced staff or provide a broader managed service approach with a resource manager working alongside the deployment team to ensure that resources are meeting expectations and managing any onboading and offboarding as required. This then allows the internal programme and project managers to focus on the deployment itself without time consuming distractions which can introduce delays.
One of the unique elements of our approach is to use cohesive teams who have already worked together and already have established working practices, communication and roles and responsibilities already set and developed. These cohesive teams will have already successfully delivered healthcare IT projects together. This reduces risk and speeds up performance and enhances communication, which all contribute to better quality, faster responsiveness and ultimately better implementations.
We can also work with clients to share risk in aspects of deployments when implementing a complete component of a system, upgrade or complete end to end deployment of a healthcare IT system using a managed service and cohesive team. This approach further demonstrates our commitment to the implementation process and confidence in successfully deploying a system for a NHS Trust.
Populo were committed to providing the Trust with a detailed review, and a subsequent report and debrief, was very thorough in terms of its review and findings. The Populo Consulting staff that came to site to provide the review and debrief were very knowledgeable, professional and were able to understand the project and delivery method with ease.
